Thank you for having me. I was in Old Arkham early october, when my character started, but toured around Malton. I died very early, noob. I don't know what it is with Old Arkham but I always planned on returning. After I gained experience I felt it was time to return and help out.

Just wanted to ask a couple questions because I am soooo noob. Why are some boards password protected? Does that mean I don't get to know what is happening with the group? Why are their so many members here and on the stats page there are only 12 known members? Why do some members have ROAR in their group tag and why does it say to put Reformed Old Arkham Republic?

1 - So we can talk about Safehouses/TRPs that need defending, Zombie Movements, PK Sightings, Soufle recipies, etc, without broadcasting it to the general public.
2 - Yes, but it's not as necessary as you may think. Most of the 'urgent' info is shared in-game to whatever ROAR members are in the room. If you like, I'll PM you my current location. You can hang around there & help out until you get a Pass.
3a - The Stats Page only counts active groups that have the same group tag, right now there are only 12 active with that tag.
3b - Not everybody on this board is part of ROAR, some join up then find they don't like the game, while others sign up to just make one revive request.
4 - ROAR is what most of us decided on as our tag, this was well after I suggested putting Reformed Old Arkham Republic as the tag when the group formed. I've just been a lazy bastard about updating the "Rules & Conditions" page. Up until now it hasn't been an issue, we just haven't been getting any new blood.

That would be sweet if you could pm me and tell me where you are. I am in the Button Building at the moment currently going out and killing some zeds and trying to get some syringes. Hope I can do my part.

Another survivor, signing up! www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=1444949Know I'm kinda youngish to the game and that I don't have many skills yet (okay, I'm slightly not terrible with an axe...), but I'm willing to do my part! Well, plus I figure that, after breaking into a police station and plundering it for a bit (for when I eventually take skills in using ranged weapons), that I might as well join up... Free Running is the next skill I plan to take, along with barricades sometime very soon.

Only for new folk? I reckon it's sometimes just as brutal for us older folks too, seeing as we've been around long enough to make enemies both sides of death...well, maybe I only speak for myself.
Also, welcome aboard Morriganh!

Thanks for the welcomes ^^
And, yay, almost level 2 ^^ I'll be just a slight bit less likely to be zombie chow then. Only a slight bit.

Hello people. I heard you help those who are new to Malton, so here I am, hoping that in ROAR I have better chances than alone. I intended to learn 'hand combat', but you suggested 'free running', so I will. Now I'm in Emma Hospital, too tired to move. What would you advise to me to do tomorrow, where to go? Can I do anything useful? www.urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=1477812

Welcome Aboard Varrava.
If you're still alive tomorrow, I suggest you wait until you're @ 50 AP, load up on as many First-Aid Kits (FAKs) as you can carry (this may take a couple of days). After that, pick a fight with the first Zombie you see.
Just don't attack any Zeds that are standing in a Cemetary, and try and look out for any other Revive Points as well. People don't like it when they're attacked at a Rev Point.
When you die, and you will, a lot, let us know and we'll revive you. It's not pretty, but right now you need XP any way you can get it. It's up to you how you level up, but I suggest you pick Free Running, Hand to Hand Combat, Diagnosis, Construction, NecroTech Employment, & Lab Experience, in that order.
Let me know when you get Free Running.

So I've learned Free Running. But I found myself in Spicer Hills Terasius General Hospital. What next? And how should I communicate with you, by this forum only?
